Fanatics' fury at Muslim Playgirl

Sila Sahin, a star of German soap Good Times, Bad Times, has caused a storm by posing naked for Playboy. Islamic fanatics have posted threatening messages and called the 25 year old Sila a ‘Western Slut’ and said she must pay for this. Her conservative Turkish parents have reacted with abhorrence and her mother has cut of all contact. Sia said The Playboy shoot was a total act of liberation. She wants to say with these pictures that girls don’t have to live according to the rules imposed upon them.
Reaction:
I think what she wants to say with these pictures is very brave, but I do not think this is the right way to communicate this message. Everybody should live the way they want to live and if you want to pose for The Playboy, that is fine to me. I hope that people won’t hurt her, because everybody should be free in their choices of life.

  1. As being raised an Orthodox Jew; I do not think women should pose in the Playboy naked. But as a Western man I think it’s her right to pose naked if she wants to. I hope fanatics will not hurt her. Though I do fear that.

It is up to Adonai (or Allah) to punish her; if He feels that’s necessary. People should not act up as if they themselves are G’d.

  2. Indeed, very brave of her to do this... But it's the wrong way to give the message to her community. They probably got a totally different message from it..

I looked at the article and saw the pic.. And you know what I noticed? Parts are covered.. There's nothing special to see so maybe she did think it through a little more than I first though.

  4. For her to do such a thing is brave but stupid. All contact has been broken and for me that leaves the question: Was it really worth it? She could have send this message in a different and i think a better way. but that's just my opinion.
